At Animal Doctors, we get a ton of interesting questions from pet parents. Below are some common FAQs that might help answer any questions or concerns. Please feel free to call us at 502-267-4087 for any other concerns you might have about your pet.

What should I do to prepare for my appointment?
We send out a questionnaire when your appointment is confirmed. This is usually 48 hours prior to your appointment time. Please fill out this form as soon as you can so that your veterinarian and medical staff can review any pertinent medical history, information, or requests before your pet’s upcoming appointment. The information provided will help us make your pet’s appointment smooth and efficient. For wellness, new pet, or soft stool appointments, we request that you bring a fecal sample. For wellness visits for patients over 6 years of age and urinary issue appointments, we request that you bring a fresh urine sample or not let your pet urinate for several hours prior to the appointment time.
What are our COVID protocols?

At this time we are encouraging you to come into the building with your pet. Masks are optional, but if you have symptoms or have recently been exposed to a contagious illness we ask that you wear a mask or stay in your vehicle. We offer curbside and drop-off appointments if preferred.

What can I do the make my reactive or fearful pet's visit less stressful?
Please communicate what your pet has issues with prior to your appointment. We are passionate about low-stress vet visits and can accommodate most behavior issues. Please call before entering the clinic if your pet is fearful or reactive with other animals. We will do our best to limit your time in our waiting area.
Can I stay with my pet throughout our appointment?

We are flexible and willing to accommodate whatever makes you and your pet most comfortable. Some pets are protective of their owner and do better in a separate room, but others do best with the comforting presence of their pet parent. Please let us know at your appointment time what your preference is.

What app do we use?

We offer a 15% discount on your first visit as a new client. There is a 15% discount for military personnel and a 10% discount for senior citizens and appointments with multiple pets.
Do we require a deposit for appointments?
We do require a deposit of $40 for a new client appointment, and a deposit of $150 for surgeries. Deposits are credited at the appointment or refunded if the appointment is canceled at least 48 hours prior to the appointment time. Deposits are not required for any other appointment types.
